神戸市における大型児童センターの移転新築である。こどもが安全に元気よく動ける空間が屋内外で一体的に計画されており、施設内のオープンスペースや諸室では、「育成」と「療育」の視点から多様なプログラムが実施できる。一人でも、兄弟でも、親子でもあそべる施設が意図され、吹抜を利用した開放的なスペース、こどもが落ち着ける温かみのあるスペース、集中して創作等に取り組めるスペース等の多様なあそび・活動空間が建築計画の特性に合わせ豊富に設けられている。キッズガーデンと呼ぶ施設前面の屋外空間には、遊具と一 体化した三角形のデッキがかかり、神戸という港町にふさわしい船のイメージが投影されている。
The relocation and reconstruction of the large children’s center in Kobe City aims to create a space where children can move safely and energetically, both indoors and outdoors. The open spaces and various rooms within the facility are designed to host diverse programs from the perspectives of "development" and "therapeutic education." The facility is intended to accommodate individual children, siblings, or parent-child activities. There are various play and activity spaces in the building plan, such as open spaces utilizing atriums, warm spaces where children can relax, and areas for focused activities such as creative work. The outdoor space in front of the facility, called the Kids Garden, features a triangular deck integrated with play equipment, with a ship-like design reflecting the port city of Kobe.
