創立百周年を記念するレガシーとなる施設
学校法人二階堂学園の創立百周年記念事業として、烏山キャンパスの今後100年のシンボルにふさわしい設計とた。地下2階、地上7階の高層立体体育施設は、国内はもとより世界的に見ても珍しく、限られた敷地の中に、各種体育施設や研究室、部室等を機能的に配置した。また、講堂や武道場など、これまでなかった施設を新たに加えた複合施設となっている。
コミュニケーションを生み出す空間
体育大学の中心的な施設である体育館としての機能だけでなく、学生同士の交流を生み出す仕組みがちりばめられた空間になっている。
大学の顔としてのランドマーク
大きな丸窓のデザインにより、スポーツやダンスにおける身体の動きやしなやかさ、美しさを表現した。日本を代表するアスリートやダンサーを育成するとともに、体育およびスポーツ、ダンス、健康、幼児教育をアカデミックな視点で教育・研究する日本女子体育大学にふさわしい外観となっている。

A Legacy Facility to Commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Nikaido Gakuen School Corporation As a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Nikaido Gakuen School Corporation, the design was appropriate as a symbol of the Karasuyama Campus for the next 100 years.The high-rise, multi-story sports facility with two basement levels and seven stories above ground is rare not only in Japan but also in the world, and the various sports facilities, laboratories, club rooms, etc. were functionally arranged within the limited site.In addition, an auditorium, a martial arts hall, and other facilities that did not exist before have been newly added to the complex.A space that creates communication Not only does the gymnasium function as the central facility of the College of Physical Education, but it is also a space that is studded with mechanisms for creating interaction among students.Landmark as the face of the university The design of the large round windows expresses the movement, flexibility, and beauty of the body in sports and dance.The appearance is appropriate for the Japan Women's College of Physical Education, which educates and researches physical education, sports, dance, health, and early childhood education from an academic perspective, in addition to nurturing Japan's leading athletes and dancers.
