ワイワイプラザ垂井

Waiwai Plaza Tarui

誰もが楽しく・安全に集える垂井の賑わい拠点

中山道に近く、宿場町としての景観を残している当地は、町役場などまちの中心機能を備えた場所であった。老朽化による町役場の移転にともない、跡地を町民の賑わいの場として再生することが求められた。
まちの通りをつなぐ南北と東西に大通りを設け、その交点に、広場とエントランスホールを配置した。エントランスホールを囲むように、多目的ホール、調理室、会議室、カフェなどが放射状に配置され、どこからでも館内の様子が垣間見え、多世代の交流、憩いの場を形成している。
切妻屋根によって構成される外観は、旧中山道の景観に調和している。広場に面したファサードは、垂井曳やままつりの練込みの出発点の背景となる。地域の伝統を継承しつつ、新しい町民の賑わいの場となることを目指している。

A lively hub in Tarui where everyone can gather safely and enjoyably

Located near the Nakasendo Expressway and retaining its appearance as a post town, the site was equipped with the town hall and other central functions of the town.With the relocation of the town hall due to aging, the site was required to be revitalized as a lively place for the town residents.The plaza and entrance hall were placed at the intersection of the north-south and east-west avenues that connect the streets of the town.Surrounding the entrance hall, a multipurpose hall, a kitchen, a conference room, and a café are arranged in a radial pattern, creating a place for multi-generational interaction and relaxation, with a glimpse of the building from every angle.The exterior, composed of gabled roofs, is in harmony with the scenery of the old Nakasendo Road.The facade facing the plaza serves as a backdrop for the starting point of the parade of the Tarui Hikiyama Festival.It is intended to be a place for new townspeople to bustle while continuing the traditions of the community.
